Course curriculum

Reading and Listening Skills

Students will be able to read emails, news items, official notices, and structured B1 texts. Listening skills will include longer conversations, interviews, and announcements — a core requirement of the Goethe B1 Hören module.

Practical Communication

By the end of this intermediate German class, students will be able to share experiences, explain plans, handle work and study conversations, and take part in mock interviews. This course fully prepares students for the Goethe B1 Sprechen module, including paired discussion and short presentations.

Teaching Methods

Doitsu – The German Language Institute uses a mix of live instructor-led classes, writing workshops, speaking labs, mock interviews, and exam-style tasks. This ensures every skill — reading, writing, listening, and speaking — is taught in an engaging, practical way, rather than through rote memorization alone.

Pass Marks for Goethe B1

Goethe B1 is modular. Each module is scored out of 100 and is passed independently with at least 60 points (60%). The full B1 certificate is awarded when all four modules are passed.
